Grrrr, my partner is not one for listerning properly at all when I speak, despite being an expert in every subject matter (or so he thinks) yesterday we had the following conversation...
me: Can I soak my jeans in white spirit?
him: Yes
me: Are you sure? Nothing bad will happen to the jeans, or me, or the environment? I want to soak them in it because there is paint all over them...
him: Yes, yes, it will be fine....
So I put them in a bucket and pour on a whole bottle of white spirit, left them there for a day, and put them in the washing machine, before I put them in the washing machine I said...
"Can I put them in the washing machine? It won't harm the machine, etc etc"...the same routine as before...
I got a rather pissy answer back "Yes, it's fine, I used to get white spirit literaly all over my overalls in the navy, and wash them, it's fine..."
Now the washing machine stinks of white spirit, and it won't go...despite the fact that It's now on it's 10th wash :( Aparantly it is all my fault as "no-one washes stuff with white spirit on in the washing machine, and he did not mean that I should literaly soak my jeans in white spirit..." Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
